T H E S U B O D H N S S (National Service Scheme)
“The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others”. - Gandhi
National Service Scheme was initiated with the aim to provide experience to young students in delivering community services along with the educational reforms. The Subodh college has three units in which it can enroll 300 students. The unit aims to encourage social service and indulge the students to showcase their talents in various cultural events and camps organized from time to time. Students participated with great fervor and enthusiasm in the numerous activities organized throughout the year, few of which are mentioned below, along with the laurels received by the NSS volunteers and the Program officers:

On May1, 2023 students of the college participated in a mass "Yoga Abhyas" program conducted under the aegis of International Yoga Day Countdown series a 100 days counter program to take Yoga to the masses under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. The program was organised by Morarji Desai National Institute of Yoga, Ministry of Ayush, Govt. of India at Bhavani Niketan School, Jaipur.
- "Subodh Purv Chatra Samiti" organised an event on May 24, 2023, to spread awareness about the importance of environment and animal safety.14O Students participated andthe event was graced by Hon'ble Kunwar Rastradeep, DIG(IPS) who emphasized on individual initiative for environmental protection.
- On May 28, 2023 under the direction of Dr. Vishal Gautam, NSS Program Officer, a campaign was organized under the joint aegis of the college and S.V. Public School, Adarsh Nagar, Jaipur for plantation of saplings and to obtain birds and chuga pots for life conservation of birds. 40 volunteers took an active participation for the cause and planted trees for environmental protection and birdhouses for voiceless birds.
- College aims in achieving the goal of SDGs for a better and more sustainable future for all" by addressing various social, economic, and environmental challenges facing the world. Keeping this in mind 60 volunteers took participation in World Bicycle Day, held on June 3, 2023 under the title, “Riding together for a Sustainable Future”. From July 18-25,2023 ,volunteers planted trees in the campus with the distribution of 400 to spread awareness to grow more and more plants in their locality.
- To raise awareness and encourage action for the protection of the Environment,college on theEnvironment Day organized a competition in Hotel Clarks Amer where 24 volunteers participated. On June 5, 2023 college celebrated World Environment Day with Rajasthan Environment and Energy Conservation Centre’s team. A rally has been organized after that to propagate the message for Environment conservation with participation of 100 NSS volunteers at Albert Hall, Ramniwas Bagh, Jaipur.
- The Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav is not only about celebrating the past but also about envisioning and working towards a brighter future for India. In the phase of its development journey College organized “Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav Har Ghar Tiranga” on August 5, 2023. Prof. K.B. Sharma, Principal and 50 students hoisted the tricolor flag with the distribution of flags in the college to honour the sacrifices made by freedom fighters.
- College ensures the protection of Fundamental Rights of everyone. Keeping this in mind for participation in democracy, the SVEEP team which aims to educate voters about their rights, responsibilities, and the importance of participating in the electoral process organized a program and Voter Awareness Program onAug 7, 2023,in which more than 120 volunteers showed their presence.
- On August 9, 2023, massive tree plantation programme was organized by the NSS units of the college in Gandhi Nagar Club, Jaipur, under the theme "One Tree, One Nation" and "My Country, My Soil", initiatives with the hosted presence of Shri. S.P. Bhatnagar, Regional Director of NSS in Rajasthan, Dr. Snigdha Sharma, District coordinator NSS and, Prof. K.B. Sharma, Principal, Subodh P.G.College. Volunteers planted medicinal and shade-giving plants in the college campus, and surrounding areas of Gandhi Nagar Club.
- A one-day inter college student seminar was organized on September 9, 2023, with the aim of paying tribute to the brave women who contributed to the Indian Independence movement. Chief Guest, Dr. Archana Sharma, Chairperson Social Welfare Board emphasized that Indian brave women had left an indelible mark on the world stage during the struggle for independence. The contributions made by these brave individuals were also highlighted during the poster unveiling ceremony with participation of 350 students from various colleges.
- “Female health should be of prime importance” working on this motive on September 10-15, 2023, 300 Sanitary pads were distributed to the needy women and women who live in the rural area. College NSS Volunteers gave them the knowledge aboutsanitation, health and hygiene with maximum participation of females of rural family. Also, a free cancer screening and awareness camp titled "Cancer Screening at Your Door" was organized on September 15, 2023, under the auspices of Bhagwan Mahavir Cancer Hospital and Research Centre at the college premises in which more than 350 faculty members of the college registered themselves and underwent check-ups by Dr. Karuna Sharma, Dr. Nirmala Mahawar, and Dr. Sunil Kumar Jain. Mammography, pap tests, X-rays , and other screenings were provided free of cost by the team.
- On September 23, 2023, the college participated in a Clean Campaign held at Jal Mahal as part of a health camp and Shramdaan program. 65 students participated in this initiative aimed to clean up the area around Jal Mahal with the assistance of the Municipal Corporation. The event saw the presence of esteemed guests, including Sh. Manoj Joshi, Secretary, Housing and Urban Ministry, Delhi: Sh. Kailash Chand Meena, Secretary, Self-Government Department. Rajasthan; Sh. Hardesh KumarSharma; Special Secretary, Self-Govt. Dept., Rajasthan, Sh. Rajendra Singh Shekhawat, Commissioner, Municipal Corporation, Jaipur, Sh. Babulal Goyal, Commissioner. Municipal Corporation Jaipür Greater. They contributed to the efforts to improve the environment in and around Jal Mahal.
- Sh. Shubham Pareek, NSS Volunteer, was awarded the NSS Award onSeptember 29, 2023 for the year 2021-22 by the Honourable Pressident of India, Droupadi Murmu, in the category of volunteer in recognition of his outstanding services to the community.
- On September 30, 2023, a voter awareness program was organized by the Election Commission of India (ECI) at the Rajasthan Agriculture Research Institute. The program aimed to raise awareness about the importance of voting and encourage voter participation among all sections of society. The event featured esteemed guests including Shri Rajiv Kumar, Chief Election Commissioner at ECI; Shri Anup Chandra Pandey, Election Commissioner at ECI, and Shri Arun Goel, Election Commissioner at ECI. NSS volunteers, Rangers & Rovers, NCC cadets, and RJ Ravindar actively participated in the event.
- In commemoration of Mahatma Gandhi’s vision of a cleaner India, the NSS unit of the college embarked on a "Cleanliness is Service" campaign on October 1, 2023, the primary objective of the event was to collect garbage and clean the Durgapura Gaushala premises. Distinguished guests hoisted the event included Sh. Ramcharan Bohra, Lok Sabha Member, Jaipur City; Sh. S.P. Bhatnagar, Regional Director, NSS, Rajasthan and Prof. K.B. Sharma, Principal. Campaign conducted an oath-taking ceremony also. This initiative saw the active involvement of more than 300 volunteers, including NSS Program Officers of the college.
- A three-day Rajasthan Sports Youth Festival was organized in Jaipur from October 1-3, 2023 in which all the program officers were assigned different districts to coordinate within the youth festival. Dr. Richa Singhal (Dholpur, Dungarpur), Dr. Pawan Sharma (Srigangnagar, Hanumangarh), Dr. Vishal Gautam (Jaipur, Jaisalmer), Dr. Babulal Sharma (Pratapgarh, Rajsamand), Dr. Radhakishan (Suratgarh, Sikar), and Dr. Lokesh Jain (Churu, Jhunjhunu) served as nodal officers.
- NSS program officers and NCC officers attended a 2-day basic life support training program for trainers under ‘SATYAM’ (A WHOCCET Initiative) in collaboration with State Road Safety Cell, Jaipur, held onOctober 9-10, 2023 at Kanoria Mahila Mahavidyalaya, Jaipur.
- On October 16,2023, the Pre RD-Selection Camp was organized at the college premises by the National Service Scheme Regional Directorate of the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India. In this camp, NSS- volunteers from different universities and colleges from Jaipur, Dausa, Sikar, Jhunjhunu, and Alwar districts participated. Mr. S.P. Bhatnagar, the Regional Director of the National Service Scheme in Jaipur, Rajasthan, explained that the selection of self-volunteers from various districts was conducted based on their parade, physical fitness, cultural presentation, and general knowledge as determined by the selection committee appointed by the Government of India. The selected NSS- volunteers from the state represented Rajasthan in the Pre Republic-Day Parade Camp to be held from October 25 to November 3, 2023, at MM PG College, Fateh abad, Haryana.
- More than 200 volunteers participated in walk for breast cancer awareness, organized by Sanjeevani life beyond cancer October 29, 2023.
- A workshop was conducted on Swachata Action Plan organized by Regional Directorate Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports New Delhi on October 31, 2023 with participation of 500 students from various Institutions.
- On October 31, 2023 NSS units of our college organised an oath ceremony against tobacco on World Tobacco Day with an objective of Tobacco free community.
- The NSS units of the college organized a Blood Donation Awareness Quiz, witnessing the active participation of 1100 students. The event, held on November 15, 2023, aimed to promote awareness about the importance of blood donation. The quiz covered topics related to blood types, donation procedures, and the impact of blood donation on saving lives.
- Eight NSS volunteers participated in National Adventure Camp which was held in Pong Dam, Himachal Pradesh from November 27 to December 6, organized by Ministry of Youth and Sports Affairs of India. World Aids Day in Pongdam, Himachal Pradesh on December 1, 2023 and ran the cleanliness program, 10 volunteers participated on international mountain day where the Gaurav Sharma Mt. Everesti presented a wonderful presentation and initiated the program with a quick quiz on December 11, 2023.
- During the year of empowering women, two of our NSS volunteers Riya Choudhary and Sheetal Vishwkarma got an opportunity to represent themselves at Republic Day camp organized in New Delhi from January 10-31, 2024 by Ministry of Youth Affairs and sports of India.Five students of NSS participated in National Youth Festival 2024 at Nasik, Maharashtra from January 12-16, 2024.
- NSS units organized Bird Help Camp fromJanuary 13-15, 2024 under the joint aegis of Rajasthan Jan Manch Pakshie.More than 22 pigeons and an eagle were given a medical treatment during the festival season of Makar Sakranti.
- More than 100 students participated in Jaipur Marathon onFebruary 4, 2024, and the Chief Guest Shri Bhajan Lal Sharma, Chief Minister of Rajasthan showed a green flag to start the marathon
- On February 14, 2024, Principal Prof. K. B. Sharma was honored by Dr. Prem Chand Bairwa, Deputy Chief Minister, Government of Rajasthan in the closing ceremony of National Road Safety month. This recognition reflects the dedication and exemplary leadership of Prof. Sharma and has contribution to the educational and social development of our institution. Such accolades not only elevate the standing of our college but also inspire the entire academic community.
- Seven-day camp was organised from February 23 – 29, 2024 at Durgapura Gaushala, Jaipur with different activities like voter awareness program, Shramdan, Street Play, Rally etc. During the closing ceremony on February 29, 2024, Shri S.P Bhatnagar, Regional Director, NSS Rajasthan and Dr. K. K. Kumawat State Coordinator NSS, College Education, Government of Rajasthan graced the event with their presence.
- Six NSS volunteers participated in the National Integration Camp from March 1-7, 2024 at Vishva Bharti College, Sikar organized by Ministry of Youth and Sports Affairs of India.
- More than 50 students participated in biggest ever Women Entrepreneurship Fest ‘Shakti Vandan’ which was held from March 2-4, 2024 organized by Jaipur Nagar Nigam.
- More than 100 NSS volunteers participated in ‘Save Water Campaign’ that was held on March 4, 2024 at college campus.
- On March 7, 2024, hundred NSS volunteers participated in the “Mera Pehla Vote Deshkeliye” Program.
- On March 15, 2024, NSS volunteers participated in Nukkad Natak competition on topic ‘World Consumer Right Day’.
- On March 31, 2024,more than 150 NSS volunteers participated in ‘Ahmisa Run’, Jaipur.
