“Physics is a good framework for thinking. ... Boil things down to their fundamental truths and reason up from there”- Elon Musk
Physics is the science of nature dealing with the whole universe. It mainly involves the study of matter, energy, and their interactions. Department of Physics is thriving centre for research and education. It offers the Undergraduate, Postgraduate and Ph.D. programs in Physics. Departmental research center is approved by the University of Rajasthan. It has eleven well equipped experimental laboratories, departmental library, computer lab and other resources. The department keeps itself alive with regular academic activities like workshops, symposia, conference and training sessions which enable students to learn and interact with scientists and researchers from across the globe. Remedial classes and development programs of the department catch the fancy of many distinguished visiting physicists to the campus, which stimulate an active research environment. The research laboratory of the department has synthesis and characterization facilities like XRD, FTIR spectro photometer, Spin Coater, uv-vis Spectrophotometer, Battery Tester, Muffle Furnace (1000°C), Ultra sonic Bath, Magnetic Stirrer, Magnetic Assembly, Vacuum Oven, Mercury Bath, Electronic Balance, Impedance Analyzer, Vector Network Analyzer (VNA), Sievert Spectrometer for Hydrogen Adsorption, Hydraulic Press Unit, Kiethley Electrometer for I-V Measurement, Roll Mill, Thermal Evaporator, Probe Sonicator etc. The department was supported by FIST program in years 2002, 2013 and 2022. An annual competitive exam 'National Graduate Physics Examination' is conducted by Indian Association of Physics Teachers (IAPT) for undergraduate students every year within the college premises. Every year selected students, on the basis of their academic records are sent to reputed institute for projects and internships.
