The department of music was established in session 2023-24 with three year under graduate programme syllabus as per NEP 2020 and choice based credit system facility of arts.

Importance of Music in Life Indian Classical Music
Classical music is the cultural heritage of our country
and it is important for our students to preserve it, so
all students should learn it.
(2) Music connectes us to our religion. The forms of
notes are found in the ancient Vedic texts. Vedic
music tells us about the most ancient music. By
learning music, we are able to understand religious
norms and civilizations and follow them.
(3) Only by learning music can we acquire the power to
put words into a song. Through music our emotions
get a completeness which enables us to become
lyricists, poets, writers.
(4) By learning music, we experience immense peace
and joy. This keeps us energetic in other areas as
well. This enables us to perform other tasks
efficiently.
(5) Various styles of light music like Bhajan, Ghazal, Sufi
song, Qawwali etc. keep our mind cheerful. This kind
of music not only energizes us by learning it but also
by listening to it. Due to this people from other fields,
whether they are engineers, doctors, lawyers or
businessmen, learn light music to keep themselves
happy and are able to do their work better.
(6) "Music has the greatest impact on the human brain"
Positive, melodious music causes a unique stir in the
subtle fibers of the brain, which increases memory
power, relieves stress and provides relief in many
diseases. The mind and heart automatically start
dancing to the divine notes of music. The
atmosphere becomes pure.Energy giving musical sound actually protects human
health and increases life span.

"There are four flamants helping in the development
of children Physical, Mental, Spiritual, Emotional.
(7) Music is the most beautiful expression of various
emotions agitated in the human soul through sound
waves. Music was created to give pleasure. Among
all the fine arts, music is given the most importance,
said Rabinranath Tagore.
(8) Physical – Development- Music directly gives joy to the heart. It energizes the
body. By practising music, children also remain safe
from diseases like high blood pressure, breathing
problems etc.
(9) By listening to the fiucuations of the voice, its high
and low volume and the sound of different types of
voices and instruments, the child's observation
power, thinking power and concentration increases.
Memory and imagination power increases.
(10) Spiritual Development –
Through singing, as person merges with Brahma and
attains that divine bliss. Music is considered to be the
best means of attaining salvation. Through bhajans,
we are able to meet God.
Imotional Development –
Music's rhythm and best develop a sense of rules
and discipline. The voice communicates emotions to
the tender hearts of children. This develops a sense
of morality in children. They like to stay connected
with values.
