Our history has a big impact on us, and understanding it can benefit us. For us to understand how and why our present world is the way it is, look to history for answers. Having knowledge of our history allows us to understand where we are coming from, which allows us to understand our present. It not only reveals the past, but it also helps us create a better future.
The curriculum of History in the institution is tailored in part to put the modern world in historical perspective. The curriculum seeks to encourage both an understanding of the human past and the development of skills necessary to express that knowledge effectively and aims to provide a comprehensive and in-depth assumption & proposition about human actions, beliefs and ideas. The Department of History focuses on imparting interdisciplinary approach to understand the socio-economic and political realities of Indian History. National seminars, workshops and guest lectures by distinguished experts inculcate critical thinking and refined interpretation of the subject.
