Department of Political Science

The Department of Political Science is a diverse group of active scholars dedicated to intellectual discovery and teaching excellence. The objective of the curriculum designed in the department is to train both the U.G. and P.G. students thoroughly in all branches of the discipline, focusing on classical themes and recent development. This provides the students with necessary conceptual awareness to undertake further specialized studies and research activities.
The P.G. programme focuses on the study of Political Theory, Ideas, Comparative Politics, International Relations, and Indian Politics and Public Policy. The programme is designed to enhance theoretical understanding and to develop methodological skills, relate political processes with social structures and ideas and interpret institutions, policies and processes in a historical perspective. The department has constantly been engaged in academic pursuits by organizing seminars, workshops, guest lectures and conferences.
